How to clean your appliances

How to clean your appliances

Kitchen appliances should be cleaned thoroughly inside and out at least twice a year to keep dirt and bacteria under control. Below are some of my suggestions, but always contact your users manual for the manufacturers recommended ways to clean your appliances, inside and out.

Remove all food from the refrigerator and sort it through. Dispose of all food and almost empty food containers.

Now that the fridge is empty, remove the drawers and shelves. Be careful when handling glass vials, especially with wet hands. Wash the shelves and drawers with a mixture of mild soap, lukewarm water and a small amount of coke powder. (Baking soda helps to dissolve grease and dirt and remove odors.)

Wipe the fridge and freezer before placing the shelves, drawers and food in the same way that you used to clean the shelves.

Place a coffee cup filled with vinegar in the dishwasher and run it through a complete bicycle, using the hottest water setting available. If your dishwasher still does not smell right, try it here: Sprinkle a cup of soda around the bottom of the bathtub and drive it again through a complete bike with the hottest water. If your dishwasher has a filter at the bottom, pull it out, rinse it and clean it thoroughly.

Finally wipe the outside of the dishwasher with a mild detergent. And do not forget to clean the upper, lower and side edges of the door.

Microwave oven

Remove the glass from the microwave and wash it by hand or in the dishwasher. Wipe the inside of the microwave with a mild detergent, general detergent or mild soda solution.

If there is build up dirt and you have difficulty removing, try placing a microwave dish with 1 cup of water and ¼ cup of vinegar in the microwave and boil for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the microwave and leave the bowl for 15 minutes with the door closed. Remove the bowl from the microwave and wipe again inwards. The built-in dirt should be easy to remove now.

Cleaning the oven is probably the toughest job in the kitchen.

Start by removing the steering wheel, the gutter and the burner lid and clean them. Wipe the oven to remove any lost dirt. Wash the entire surface with warm soapy water with a good detergent. If things are cruel, you might want to try a commercial degreasing product. Be sure to follow the packages instructions.

Avoid using abrasives on your stove because they can scratch or damage the surface. And if you have a gas stove, be careful about the gas ports because you can dry the dirt, grease and cleaning solution in the door and the door can be clogged. If this happens, use a toothpick to thoroughly clean the opening before using the burner.

Finally wash the walls and the cupboards behind and to the sides of the stove.

Coffee Makers

Over time, mineral deposits can be built into your coffee maker and make your coffee taste bitter. This accumulation of mineral deposits can also increase the brewing time for your coffee maker because the structure can inhibit the flow of water through the device.

How long it takes for this structure to be a problem depends on the quality of the water you drive through the coffee maker. If you use tap water and the water in your area is difficult, you want to thoroughly clean the coffee maker every month. If you use bottles or filtered water, you can probably wait 2-3 months between cleaning.

Anyway, if your coffee starts bitterly or you notice an increase in the time it takes to make a pot, its time to clean your machine.

To clean your coffee maker, add enough white wine to the coffee pot to get half a mark and then add enough water to fill the pot to the top. Pour this mixture into the water tank and put on the coffee machine. Once the mixture has passed through, turn off the coffee machine and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes. Then run the coffee machine twice with clean, clean water, be sure to allow the machine to cool for 10 minutes between the bridges.

Your coffee maker should now be clean and free of charge.
